Indefinite curfew in Gujarat town
By Our Special Correspondent
The disturbances in Lunavada were a sequel to the violence in the neighbouring Dahod town, where communal clashes broke out on Tuesday following an incident of eve-teasing forcing the police to impose indefinite curfew in areas under three police stations.
The police said trouble started at Kachiawad area in Lunavada town where angry mobs set afire some shops and vehicles and pelted stones at each other. The curfew was imposed after bursting of dozens of teargas shells and firing of five rounds in the air failed to disperse the clashing mobs.
The situation in Dahod town, however, improved considerably today with no untoward incident reported during the relaxation of curfew.
